Great tune-up kit for a daily used machine. Keeps my wife happier with that little bugger cleaning the floors every day.
If you have a Roomba, you MUST change the filter ever 3 months, regardless of how many times you take the fuzz out of it, it just gets clogged and becomes ineffective. This kit is cheap and handy, especially all the extra attachments. At least once a year you should change all the brushes and interior plastic pieces, which makes Roomba VERY VERY happy and work so much better
Although the four Roomba Virtual Walls that I ordered work, two were obviously used, not new as advertised. One actually has dents in it. Also, the seller has a newer Virtual Wall pictured, not like the ones I received. I would not buy from this seller again.
The iRobot vacuum comes with only two Virtual Wall transmitters. This makes it very difficult to confine the iRobot to just part of an open area. The addition of two more iRobot virtual wall transmitters solves the problem by making it possible to construct a square or triangle for your vacuum to work in.
These transmitters are identical to those that came with my iRobot vacuum, and they work perfectly. The price makes them a bargain for anyone with an iRobot vacuum.
This battery looks exactly like the original for my scooba 5800 and snapped into place with a solid click. It already had some charge, so I ran a full tank of solution and 10 minutes of another before it was depleted.
I’m sure it will do much longer with a full charge, maybe I should have charged it before using but it did fine.
It is supposed to be stronger than the original, which ran long enough but failed after I quit using it for a year.
Bought these to fix a used Roomba. They charged, but then discharged instantly and took another 3 hours to recharge. Probably the Roomba and not the batteries.
I bought them, had high hopes of having a cheap option to the official Roomba battery.
Installation isn’t totally easy because the plastic cap over the battery was glued all the way around — took a while to open it. If it had actually worked as promised, this would have been OK.
But I plugged it in, ran it the first day. I don’t know how long the battery lasted, but it seemed to be working fine. I charged again. A few days later I ran it, seemed to work. Charged again.
Third time: The charge lasted about 15 seconds, the Roomba complained and died.
Can’t charge it any more, can’t run it any more.
I’ve contacted the company for a refund/replacement, we’ll see what happens.
Easy replacement of dead battery, just remove soldered battery wires and solder on new battery ones. Completed in 10min.”
The battery pack came in fast and it works great. It charges up in 2 to 3 hours. My original one needed 8+ hours to charge.
This thing is a great $$ saver, though you pay for it in the difficulty of removing the lid from the old battery. It can be done with patience, just be aware that it’s not a 5 minute thing to install these.
I got these stripes today and checked them out immediately. I had hoped for a heavier, more flexible material with a rubber sole beneath, which would adjust itself through it’s own weight and the rubber adherence on the floor: that would have been a simple, effective and really mobile solution.
But ufortunately they are quite lightweight with just adhesive strips beneath, which didn’t even last a minute on my hard floor:
At the first contact with my roomba they loosened and at the second contact they lost their grip totally, so that the roomba at one time pushed them aside and run directly into the “protected” area (whereas one stripe clung to the roomba) and the other time it simply drove over them i a quite fast pace.
So, without attaching the stripes they don’t work and the adhesive strips don’t last more than a minute. That is really a pitty. On the other hand the customer service is extremely good and friendly and the keep- off mat works just fine. Therefore 3 stars ….
I got these because I had a TV stand that was just low enough that my Roomba would get stuck under occasionally resulting in the Roomba and furniture being scratched. These strips work great and activate the cliff sensors. The strips seem like velcro or felt and that somehow activates the cliff sensors. I did find it a bit pricey…that’s why it has 4 stars. I can’t imagine what the mark-up is on these things.
The adhesive works for maybe 2 days, but the Roomba doesn’t get over it enough to disturb the strips.
Nice product.
Great product. It’s a very nice strip of black carpet that is very good at activating the cliff sensors in the roomba. The strips are held in place with double-face tape. That’s great for hard floors (tile, hard wood, etc.) but not very good on carpet. Be prepared to tack these down using small nails to keep them in place on carpeting…
All in all, the size is great, and they do exactly what they are supposed to.
I love my scooba but the batteries suck. I’ve had mine for 3 years and getting ready to buy my 3rd battery. Tis the price you pay for convenience I suppose.
We have owned 2 Zoombas and 1 Scooba and I have to say that until IRobot starts putting out higher quality batteries and charging products (yes, we’ve had chargers go out on us too), they have probably reached their plateau as a consumer robotics company. I really love the products when they’re working, but I will not be buying any new ones until this weakness is fixed, and I now have two down-and-out machines (we gave the other to my mother when we bought the second Roomba). We’ve gone through two of the Scooba batteries already, despite following conflicting instructions on whether to a) leave the battery in the charger when not in use, or b) store it out of the charger when not in use. A) is what was in the original manual, but I’ve seen IRobot recommend b) at least once. C’mon IRobot, I want to rejoin the ranks of your robot legions!
I LOVE MY SCOOBA. But the batteries suck. We got one barely used scooba but a wheel locked up after a month of use and DH didnt fix it fast enough so….
I bought a reconditioned one(#2). That dropped dead in about 2 weeks.
iRobot sent me a replacement(#3). It worked once and died, they said it was the battery so we took the battery from the #1 and put it in #3.
that worked for a week, died.
Now they tell me “storing a battery in the scooba depletes the battery life. It can be left plugged in all the time as long as it is used at least once a week. If it isnt used, then charge the battery, take it out if not used once a week and store in cool dry place.” ARRRRGGGHHHH
I read the care manuals very carefully. It never said this. I think they got lousy batteries and while I am hopeful that they found the fix, I am not holding my breath.
This is the second battery that I have had to buy for my Scooba in less than two years. The Scooba itself is great when I use it and that is why I keep buying the batteries. I just can’t go back to scrubbing the floor by hand. But I have to say loud and clear, the life of the rechargable batteries sucks!

The Roomba Virtual Wall works with the 500-series Roomba’s. No guarantees on it working for other series.
The product works as advertised, effectively keeping Roomba from crossing an invisible “wall”. The wall isn’t quite straight over long distances, but it’s close enough. The virtual wall is less hassle than moving furniture or boxes to close Roomba in a room or certain space. Most Roomba’s come with at least 1 virtual wall so prospective buyers should already know how to use one, how well it works (or doesn’t), and why they would want more.
The reason for the 3-stars is the high price. The product itself is not very sophisticated and only a minor update on the previous generation Virtual Walls. It provides no added functionality, battery life is only slightly higher, and it’s not any smaller.
I could easily give this product 5-stars if it were half the price… As such, I make due with the one “freebie” and one extra I bought. Ideally, I’d like to get one or two more to take care of a few corners Roomba tends to get stuck.
But, as with most products, accessories and replacement parts is where the real money is made. The iRobot Roomba’s are no exception to this rule.
I haven’t bought this and am not going to. It has only 2000mAh capacity, whereas other batteries for 500 series have 3300mAh. This is not even cheaper. Run away!
